Beyond the Creative High
Sometimes in my human strength, I can hit a creative high where my brain is turning over idea after idea. It’s like a creative itch where I’ve got 100 possibilities and I’ve just got to get something out there to satisfy the itch.
Being on a creative high can be fun and fulfilling for a while. However, I find that when it’s in my human strength, that creative well eventually runs dry and I’m just waiting for the next thing to jumpstart me into the creative high again.
But when I sit with the Spirit of God in His creative well, that never runs dry. God is limitless. He has no boundaries. His creativity is endless. There is always something new to discover.
Now we don’t want to make our relationship with God transactional where we only spend time with Him in order to get inspiration out of it.
But when I partner with God, when I’m in His Spirit, that’s a place where my creativity can not just exist, but it can flourish and be fruitful. That’s what it looks like to use my creativity to glorify Him.
