Enter the New Year with Hope
As we come to the end of this year and enter this next year, it is really important that we do not diminish or neglect hope.
Perhaps you feel disappointed or even shamed by the hope that you have in God because it looks foolish and you haven’t yet seen the fruit of His promises.
In the life of Joseph, he heard the word of the Lord about his future, but for many years, everything around Him was saying the opposite.
‘Until what he had said came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.’ Psalm 105:19 (ESV)
Could he continue to hold on to the promises of God and the goodness of God when circumstances were dire?
Joseph was being tested which ultimately led to him being able to carry greater things.
You are being tested on your ability to hold on to hope. Can you enter this next year without compromising or playing down in your mind the things that God has said in order to avoid disappointment?
The Bible says, ‘No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.’ (Psalm 25:3)
Now, you have reason to hope – your reason is Jesus.
If you hope in God, you will not be put to shame. That’s a promise.
So, this is my encouragement to you to enter this year with confidence in what God has said to you.
